The cashless system employed at the Ricoh Arena is in the running for an internatonal award.
The system which sees City supporters having to pay for food and drinks via a pre-paid card rather than by cash at the tills, has been shortlisted in the health/lifestyle/entertainment category at the Contactless Intelligence Monkey Awards which will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Tower Bridge Hotel in London on Thursday April 29th.
The Ricoh Arena is up against Caffe Nero, the Austrian Institute of Technology who run a wireless health monitoring scheme and the city of Oulu in Finland, who have a wireless system for meals for the elderly.
