COVENTRY CITY U18's 0-3 WATFORD U18's BY KEV MONKS

Coventry City U18's went down to their heaviest home defeat of the season when they were beaten 3-0 by Watford.

On a cold blustery morning at the Alan Higgs Centre, the visitors were the first on the scoresheet when Liam Henderson raced through to finish with a low drive in the ninth minute.

The industrious Andy Gooding had a good shout for a penalty turned down by referee Mr Mellor but in the 20th minute, Watford doubled their lead.

Theo Robinson headed onto a post,Cameron Belford saved with his feet from the rebound but as the ball came back in Robinson rose to power a header high into the net.

A stunning save from Belford straight after the restart forced another corner. This time,Henderson rose to head onto the bar.

Lourougnon and Richie had chances whilst Jones,Duggan and Francis all made some well-timed tackles to prevent any more goals in the opening half.

Into the second half and Belford was earning his wages denying Robinson three times in the first ten minutes.

Brian Borrows whose side go to Reading on Wednesday in the FA Youth Cup, sent on Reis Ashraf and Keiran Fitzharris to boost the attack.
