COVENTRY CITY RESERVES 1-0 NOTTS COUNTY X1 BY KEV MONKS
Coventry City Reserves won their first no-league friendly of the new season with a single goal victory over Notts County.
With Claus Jorgensen on international duty with the Faroe Islands,Alan Cork named a young side with only Isaac Osbourne and Ben Turner having league first team experience and a trialist keeper in Chris Senna.
The Sky Blues were on the attack early on with Lourougnon and El Idrissi firing over it.
It was the Moroccan who put City ahead in the 13th minute when he latched onto a quickly taken free kick and slotted the ball past the keeper and defender from eleven yards.
In warm sunshine at Ryton, Cork's side were able to make the most of the good conditions. Lee Hildreth,Isaac Osbourne and Andy Gooding controlled the midfield whilst right back Liam Robinson again impressed.
El Idrissi, who has the nickname of "Frankie" for his uncanny resemblance to Frankie Dettori was replaced at the break with David Burtoft.
Apart from a rasping drive from Lee Hildreth on the hour mark which won a corner, all the play was concentrated in the middle third of the pitch.
Ben Turner again put in a solid performance as City ensured a victory.
