Ricoh Arena In World Cup Rugby Bid

Although it has been known for awhile that Coventry's Ricoh Arena would be part of a bid by the English Rugby Union for the 2015 World Cup, it is now that the rest of the venues have come to light.

For pool matches, the Ricoh Arena would stage matches alongside Southampton's St Marys, Leeds' Elland Road, Newcastle's St James' Park, Gloucester Rugby's Kingsholm and Leicester Rugby's Welford Road.

Other stadium to be used include Wembley, The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Old Trafford and The Emirates.

A five man delegation from the English Rugby Union will present the bid in Dublin this afternoon but the hosts of the 2015 and 2019 World Cup will be announced on July 28th.
