Coventry City have issued a press statement regarding the banning orders given to 79 City followers.
The statement reads" We are committed to making the Ricoh Arena a safe place for football fans and we continue to work closely with the local police to ensure that the minority who are intent on causing trouble are caught and suitablly punished.
Banning orders were introduced to help tackle disorder and are tailored to individual cases and can last ten years.
These new figures reflect the excellent work of staff and police over a number of years in maintaining a high level of security.
The security operation at the club has been constantly improving. Arrests at matches in the 07/08 season were down by almost seventeen per cent from the previous season.
With hundred of thousands of fans visiting the Ricoh Arena each season, this is a very small number of incidents."
