Ricoh Arena bosses are considering plans to put solar panels on the roof of the Jaquar Exhibition Centre, next door to Coventry City's stadium.
They are looking at ways of reducing their energy bills and reducing their carbon footprint andsolar panels are something that is being given consideration.
“We are looking at renewable energy for the venue and have commissioned surveys to have solar panels fitted to the roof of the 6,000 sqm Jaguar Exhibition Hall,” the Ricoh Arena Energy Manager Alan Pickering said to the Ricoh Arena website.
“If we are able to go ahead with solar panels on that side of the stadium it would generate a tenth of our electricity supply which is a significant amount.
“This is all very much in the early stages at the moment but we are considering it very seriously and looking at all the options.”
