Coventry Bees Speedway Team were beaten 50-40 at Kings Lynn in an Elite League meeting tonight.
Russian Emil Sayfutdinov made his debut for Coventry at the Norfolk Arena and finished second in his first heat as he could not get ahead of Kenneth Bjerre who was riding at number one for Kings Lynn in the opening heat which finished 3-3.
In a re-run second heat, Josh Auty won easy to give the Bees a 5-1 win but that was cancelled out by Olly Allen in heat three.
Neils Iversen won heat four for a 4-2 and it was the same score but this time for Coventry in heat five when Sayfutdinov rode to victory.
Heat six finished 3-3 but a re-run heat seven brought a 4-2 win for Coventry. With Heat Eight finishing 3-3, the Bees led 25-23.
That lead was wiped out in heat nine which Kings Lynn won 5-1 and the home side went further ahead with a 4-2 in a re-run after Josh Auty fell heat ten.
Heat's eleven, twelve and thirteen finished 3-3 meaning that the Bees needed five points more than Kings Lynn from the last two heats.
However, Mads Korneliussen who came from last to first and Lasse Bjerre who beat Fisher to finish second gave Kings Lynn a 5-1 and mean that the final heat which Kings Lynn also won 4-2 only added to the misery of a 50-40 defeat.
