Coventry Bees rider Emil Sayfutdinov was knocked out of the Italian Grand Prix tonight at the Semi-Final stage.
The Russian started with a third in heat one then followed this up with a second in heat seven.
In Heat eleven, he was up against Chris Holder, Lindback and Lindgren but got past Holder on the backstraight and held on to win.
Sayfutdinov was third in heat fifteen but booked his semi-final place with a win in Heat 19 when he passed Thomas Gollob to take the race.
The ten points he had amassed were enough to get him into the first semi-final but up against Antonio Lindback, Andreas Jonsson and Matej Zager, he could only finish third and miss out on the final.
Sayfutdinov who will miss The Bees meeting at Belle Vue on Monday night due to riding in the Russian pairs tomorrow, is now fifth in the Speedway Grand Prix rankings with 59 points.
