Coventry Blaze have given another year deal to Matt Soderstrom
This will be the Swedish defenceman's eighth season after joining the Blaze in 2008 and then after spells in Italy and at Telford, he rejoined in 2007.
Soderstrom has made 440 appearances for Blaze and Paul Thompson told The Blaze website: "Matty is a Blaze player through and through. No-one wants to win more than him and no-one hurts more when we lose. He's one of those players that you need on your team if you are going to chase a championship - a player with great experience, very good defensively, extremely competitive and a total winner.
"He'll never be a flashy player who gets all the plaudits. He's a guy who goes out there and does his job in a very professional way and the great thing is that the Blaze supporters recognise what he brings to the team. He's very popular with the fans, with the other players and the staff, and both the club and the team are better for him being in the line up. I'm delighted that we'll have him back for another season."
