'The Bronzed Adonis' Steve Beaton suffered another early exit in the Ladbrokes.com PDC World Darts Championships this evening at Alexander Palace, Wood Green, London.
The 44-year-old Coventry-born former BDO world champion received a 3 legs to nil whitewash against St Helens World number nine Alan 'The Saint' Tabern.
Beaton, a part-time driving intructor around the Leamington Spa area, recently dropped out of the world's top 32 despite some strong performances on the PDC circuit this year - including a semi-final in the Players Championship in Atlanta, USA.
But this evening he struggled. Throughout the match he managed to win only 3 legs and his highest finish was a measly 20.
Tomorrow sees the remaining Warwickshire representive 'The Pie Man' from Studley Andy Smith play his first round encounter with Qualifier Tony Ayres.
