Coventry Bees beat Ipswich Witches tonight at Brandon.
In their first meeting of June, The Bees brought in Sheffield's Richard Hall at number seven and allowed members of the armed forces free into the meeting.
British Champion Chris Harris and Ben Barker trailed behind Scott Nicholls in the opening heat and Ipswich who had beaten Belle Vue last night, won the second heat 4-2 which was re-run and then stopped when Josh Auty clipped Richard Hall and hit the fence. He got up but excluded from the heat which saw Hall snatch a second place.
The Bees were back in front in Heat 3 when Ed Kennett and Lewis Bridger gave Bees a 5-1 victory to put them 10-8 ahead.
The next two heats finished all square before Harris and Barker gave The Bees an easy 5-1 victory after Stachyra crashed.
Work followed on bends three and four but bend two was also causing problems. Drymi crashed there in Heat 7 which was a 3-3 and in the next Heat, Olly Allen crashed as the Bees won 5-1.
Now ten points behind, Miskowiak had a tacticial ride for the Witches and took six points to Kennett's and Bridger's three.
Heats ten and eleven produced 4-2 wins for the Bees to give Coventry a 40-29 lead. Heat twelve saw a 3-3 with another 4-2 win in Heat Thirteen.
Drymi won his tactical ride in the penultimate heat for an 8-1 to Ipswich but a 4-2 win in Heat 15 saw the Bees win by 52-44.
