Coventry Bees beat Lakeside Hammers 49-41 tonight at Brandon.
Lakeside took the opening heat 5-1 but in a re-run heat two, Jason Garrity and James Sarjeant came back with a 5-1.
The visitors took heat's three and four 4-2 but the Bees had the score level again when Watt retired due to a hand injury and Hans Andersen and Chris Harris took a 5-1 win.
Lakeside had a 4-2 but the Bees had two of their own to lead 25-23 which increased to 30-24 in Heat nine when James Sarjeant and Garrity rode to a 5-1.
Bech and Lawson replacing Watt took a 5-1 to see the Bees lead reduced to two but with the rain coming down, Chris Harris won heat eleven in a 4-2.
Kyle Howarth and Garrity took a 5-1 and after a 3-3, Lakeside had a 5-1 to put them four points behind the Bees going into the final heat.
Andersen and Harris gated and with Bech falling, the Bees were able to take a 5-1 and win by 49-41 and take three Elite League points.
