Coventry Bees Speedway Team were beaten 51-39 at Birmingham tonight
The Bees had Chris Harris again riding at number one and travelled to a Brimingham side which included former Bees riders Rory Schlein and Ben Barker. Both sides were also forced to use rider replacement to replace Prezmyslaw Pawlicki for Coventry and Daniel King for the Brummies.
Kenni Larsen won the first heat for a 4-2 to Coventry but Dennis Anderson shot round in heat two to give the Brummies a 5-1 win and put them ahead.
It was the same result in heat three and after two 3-3's and a 4-2 to the home side, Birmingham were 22-14 up.
Heat seven had to be re-run after Claus Vissen fell and was excluded and the Bees mopped up a 5-1.
Ed Kennett and Richard Sweetman rode for a 4-2 in heat eight to reduced the points deficit to two. Three 3-3's followed before heat twelve which Birmingham won 5-1.
In heat thirteen, Chris Harris went from last to first only to be beaten by Rory Schlein. That gave Birmingham a 4-2 heat win and a 5-1 in Heat 14 finished by a 3-3, ensured that Birmingham had a 51-39 victory.
