Mick Horton might be complaining about the low crowds at Brandon but they will have little hope of attracting more fans back as Coventry Bees were beaten 52-38 by Eastbourne Eagles in a performance described as "disgraceful".
Eastbourne won the toss, taking gates one and three and went ahead with a 4-2 win in heat four after three 3-3's.
Two more 3-3's were followed by another 4-2 win for Eastbourne and it was not until heat nine that the Bees won their first heat of the evening with a 4-2 win thanks to Simon Stead and Arron Summers.
The Bees won a re-run heat ten after Cameron Woodward had been excluded for bringing down Adam Roynon.
That was it for the Bees. A 4-2 and a 5-1 put Eastbourne 39-33 up at the interval.
They followed that up with a 3-3 and two 5-1's, the second of which saw the Bees riders booed as they took to the track to leave Brandon with an easy 52-38 victory and increase the frustration amongst the Bees support a notch further.
