Coventry Bees Speedway team beat Belle Vue 59-31 tonight in an Elite League meeting.
Although former Bees rider Rory Schlein was able to win the opening heat on a cold night at Brandon, The Bees who had Ed Kennett riding at number one and Chris Harris at three won the next three heats 5-1 to lead 17-7.
Rory Schlein then took the tactical ride for a 4-4 whilst heat six finished in a 3-3.
Both sides then had a 4-2 win before three 5-1's saw the Bees 45-23 up at the interval.
A re-run heat twelve with only three riders bought a 3-2 to the Bees.
A 5-1 for both sides saw the meeting come to the final heat and Schlein was disqualified in the first running then Hougaard in the second leaving just Harris and Nicholls to ride to a 5-0 and give the Bees a 59-31 win.
Weather permitting, the Bees race at Eastbourne on Saturday night before travelling to Wolves on Monday and Kings Lynn on Wednesday.
