After a weekend where the Bees victory at Lakeside was overturned to a defeat as a result of Eddie Kennett being banned for a week and stripped of the Bees captaincy after checks at Lakeside found he was running a modified, and therefore illegal, silencer, the team travelled to Peterborough to try to overturn a 1st leg deficit.
Rider replacement covered the missing Kennett and the Bees had yet another poor start to a meeting, with the Panthers leading by 21-9 after 5 heats.
Newly installed captain Ryan Fisher managed the first heat victory of the night in heat 6 before taking a tactical ride in heat 7 where he finished 2nd, and backed up\ by Pawlicki in 3rd place obtained the Bees first heat advantage of the evening to bring the score to 27-17 on the night.
Thereafter the Panthers controlled the meeting with 4 shared heats to maintain the 10 point margin.
The Bees late match form came into play again as they managed to score better and reduce the gap to 46-40 going into the final heat where Sayfutinov and Pawlicki managed to get a 5-1 to finish the match at 47-45 to the Panthers. Across both legs the Panthers won the tie by 97 points to 87, and now meet Belle Vue in the quarter finals. For the Bees the focus is now firmly on trying to attain 4th place in the table.
