The Bees had drawn 45-45 in the first leg last Monday but knew that because of the handicapping system, they would have to win by nine points if they were to progress to the final.
It was always going to be tough against the title favourites but the first three heats finished in 3-3's.
Each side won the next two heats 4-2 before Heat 6 saw a 5-1 victory for Swindon. Heats 7 & 8 finished three with both sides taking a 4-2 victory before the interval.
Heat 11 ended 3-3 with the Bees winning heat 12 4-2. A 3-3 in Heat 13, and a 4-2 to Swindon in Heat 14 meant that going into the last heat, the Bees were 40-44 down.
Chris Harris who had picked up eleven points in the Italian Grand Prix over the weekend, was in good form and having eleven points already, added three more as the final heat finished in a 3-3 and gave Swindon a 47-43 victory.
