Going into a 2nd leg of a KO cup semi-final 20 points down against a top of the table side would be tough at any time, but last night the Bees faced such a task in the second match of a double header meeting at Brandon.
Having dispatched bottom of the table Wolverhampton to a 53-40 defeat, the Bees lost Olly Allen during the Wolverhampton match through injury, so quickly drafted in Wolverhamptons Jesper B Monberg as a replacement. This caused a delay to the match whilst Poole checked the regulations but once the match got underway Poole showed jusy why they are top of the table, with a superb display of gating that the Bees had little reply too.
The match ended with a Poole victory by 54 point to 38, with the Bees scores as below.
This result meant that the Bees relinquished the KO cup and their unbeaten record in the competition that stretched back to June 2005.
