Following on from last nights Swedish GP where Hans Andersen finished runner up, he and Chris Harris (who finished the GP with 3 points) took to the Swindon track to try to gain the Elite League pairs title.
The meeting deviated slightly from the usual scoring with 4 points for a win, 3 for 2nd and 2 points for 3rd, last place scored the usual zero - this mechanism designed to promote team riding.
The Bees pair finished the qualifying rides with a total of 23 points to put them into the semi-finals alongside Belle Vue (25 points), Ipswich (21 points with 'Bee' Rory Schlein scoring 10 points) and home track team Swindon (26 points). Hans scored 14 points with Chris scoring 9 points after a 1st ride fall.
So the Bees semi was up against the Belle Vue pairing of Crump and Gjedde, with the Bees duo electign to let Crump set the pace and to team ride for the remaining places thus progressing to the final by scoring a 5-4.
The final pitched the Bees pair against the Swindon duo of Korneliussen and Adams. It was a totally tactical race from the Bees who let Kormeliussen go at the front and Hans blocking the run of Adams to let Chris through into the vital 3rd place. Try as he might Adams couldn't find a way past so ensuring the Bees won the heat 5-4 and took the pairs title back to the Brandon trophy cabinet.
