Coventrian Ian Bell led the way for Warwickshire County Cricket Club on day two of their Division One County Championship game against Somerset.

At Taunton, Bell resumed on 84 and took his total to 172 from 272 balls with 25 fours before he was caught behind by Kieswetter off the bowling off Phillips.

Jim Troughton was the first player of the day to lose his wicket when he was out for 77 with the score on 220 for three.

Bell was out with the total on 361 and then Clarke (0), lost his wicket before Skipper Tim Ambrose came in and hit a quick fire 57 with six fours.

One run short of four hundred and Neil Carter departed, lbw to Willougby with Ant Botha becoming the nine Warwickshire player to lose his wicket, some thirty four runs later.

Both sides had their full batting and bowling points as Chris Woakes, who made fifty from 75 balls including five fours and one six and Jimmy Anyon defied the Somerset bowlers in the sunshine at Taunton before Woakes was caught by Langer for 63 to leave Warwickshire 500 all out.

In reply, Somerset made 70-0 by stumps.
