Coventry Blaze thrashed Basingstoke Bisons 8-2 tonight in their first home Elite League game of the season.
A three quarters full Sky Dome saw Paul Thompson's side race into a 4-0 first period lead with a brace from Adam Calder and goals from Scott Kelman and Dan Carlsson.
It was 6-1 by the end of the second period with Jon Weaver and a first ever goal for Solihull born Joe Henry.
Leigh Jamieson had a superb game for the Blaze whilst Calder completed his hat-trick and Ben O'Connor scored in the third period for an 8-2 victory.
Next Saturday night, Blaze travel to Sheffield Steelers before facing Cardiff Devils at the Sky Dome on Sunday September 14th.
