Coventry Blaze did the double over Hull Stingrays with a 5-3 home victory tonight.
At the Sky Dome tonight, The Blaze took to the ice, having won 5-4 at Hull last night. In that game, they scored early on and this game proved no exception when Joe Henry fired home, assisted by Jason Robinson and Derek Campbell.
Hull came through a goal from former Blazeman Curtis Huppe on 4.06 and then took the lead when George Halkidis netted on 6.44.
However, before the end of the opening period, it was all square when Adam Calder slammed home a power play goal, assisted by Greg Chambers and Jon Weaver.
Both sides scored a goal apiece in the second period with Lee Esders putting Hull back in front on 29.08 with a short hand goal before Luke Fulghum made it 3-3 after 36.13 when he scored, assisted by Chambers and Carlson.
The play with pretty even until Coventry wrapped up the match in the 52nd minute.
Danny Stewart, assisted by Weaver and Carlson, hit the fourth on 52. 29 and twenty nine seconds of play later, Luke Fulghum, again found the net, assisted by Owen and Cowley to give the league leaders a 5-3 victory.
On Wednesday night, the Blaze are at home to Edinburgh Capitals with face off at 7.45pm before they travel to Cardiff Devils on Saturday and face the Nottingham Panthers at the Sky Dome next Sunday.
