In front of a quarter full Sky Dome and 34 Phonenix fans, who enjoyed a bit of turkey bowling during the interval, the Blaze presented an award to Manchester's Tony Hand in recognition of scoring 4,000 points.
Adam Walker put Manchester ahead before Dan Carlson equalised on 20.41. Tom Watkins and Carlson added to the Blaze's score only for Phoenix to draw level through Bruce Mulherin and David Beauguard.
On 46.41, Slyvain Deschalets, who is the first winner of the bmibaby Elite League award for player of the month, gave the Blaze the win. Russ Cowley was man of the match.
Tomorrow night, the Blaze travel to Newcastle Vipers, who won 3-0 at Bsingstoke tonight. Face off is at 5.30pm.
