Coventry Blaze started 2010 with a 5-2 victory at Sheffield Steelers tonight.
The Blaze travelled to Sheffield as Elite League leaders and were ahead on 2.29 when Adam Calder scored assisted by Derek Campbell.
The home side equalised through Joe Talbot on 10.25 but before the end of the first period, Jon Weaver scored a powerplay goal to keep them in front.
That lead was added to on 30.36 thanks to Luke Fulghum finding the net assisted by Dan Carlson. With Brian Lee off the ice for interference, Joe Talbot hit a second on 32.35.
The third period saw Luke Fulghum hit a fourth on 51.45 and with six seconds remaining he completed his hat-trick in an excellent performance when he scored an empty net goal, assisted by Jon Weaver.
Tomorrow night, the Blaze take on Belfast Giants at the Sky Dome. Face Off is at 6pm.
