Blaze Crash Out Of Cup

Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team crashed out of the Challenge Cup with a 4-3 defeat which meant a 6-5 aggregate defeat at Braehead Clan.

The Blaze travelled to Scotland but appeared to suffer no effects from their trek when Brad Leeb scored after 55 seconds, assisted by Heinrich and sixteen seconds later, Dustin Campbell netted, assisted by Shea Guthrie and Greg Leeb.

The Clan pulled one back on 24.53 through Birnstill and were level on 28.34 through Hartmanis with both powerplay goals.

Three minutes and forty five seconds into the third period, Coventry regained the lead when Dustin Cameron scored, assisted by Brad Leeb and Heinrich.

On 57.06, Braehead levelled the game at 3-3 and the tie at 5-5 when Nicolletti scored and on 59.24, Galbriath scored to give the Scottish team a 4-3 win and a place in the Semi-Final with a 6-5 aggregate win.
