Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey Team were beaten 6-4 by Sheffield Steelers tonight.
At the Skydome, the Blaze were a goal down on 6.19 when Maxime Lacroix netted and was followed by further goals for Rob Sirzanni on 7.06 and Jason Hewitt on 13.10.
The Blaze had Cale Tanaka off the ice for hooking and in that two minutes, the Steelers scored twice on the powerplay through Drew Fata on 16.57 and a second for Maxime Lacroix on 17.59 to see Coventry 5-0 down at the end of the first period.
Nineteen seconds into the second period, Steve Goertzen hit a sixth before the Blaze got on the scoresheet when Kevin Harvey netted on 21.24 with assists for Ryan Ginand and Kenny Kallstrom.
Coventry got a second on 32.39 with a powerplay goal from Adam Henrich, assisted by Ryan Ginand and Kenny Kallstrom and then a third through Ryan Ginand on 34.19, assisted by Cale Tanaka.
Ashley Tait scored a fourth on 48.58, with a short hand goal, assisted by Michael Henrich and 6-4 to Sheffield was how it stayed.
