Coventry Blaze went down to a 6-3 defeat to Braehead Clan tonight at the Sky Dome.
Needing to win to have have any chance of making the play-offs, the Scottish side took the lead after only 36 seconds through Lee Mitchell and then added a second on 6.52 through Jordan Krestanovich.
Coventry came back with Owen Fussy scoring on 13.46, assisted by Shea Guthrie and Mathias Soderstrom and three minutes into the second period through Robert Farmer, assisted by Shea Guthrie and Owen Fussey.
Jade Gailbraith fired Braehead back in front on 30.24 but Coventry were again level through Jon Weaver on 37.05, assisted by Matic Kralj.
Galbraith notched a second on 47.36 with an unassisted goal and on 54.22, Matt Haywood hit a fifth.
The Blaze tried to get back in the match but with three seconds left, Galbraith completed his hat-trick with an empty net goal.
