Blaze vs Clan Sunday !
This Sunday we need the Skydome ROCKING!
At 6pm on Sunday evening the Blaze play host the new boys in the League! The Glasgow based Braehead Clan will be travelling south of the border for this high action, high energy Elite League battle with little to prove but a lot to gain!
The recently formed Glasgow based side have taken the League in their stride beating both Nottingham Panthers and Sheffield Steelers in the first few weeks of the campaign and are clearly not intimidated by the 'big four'!
Last Saturday the sides met in a thrilling match which culminated in a nail-biting penalty shoot-out, from which the Blaze narrowly secured both points with two goals from Owen Fussey and Greg Owen.
With only one game played between the sides thus far the Blaze are keen to maintain a perfect record and on home ice will be seeking to build on their climb up the league standings.
Results pending, the Blaze could be looking at finishing the weekend with eleven straight league victories which would mean breaking Coventry's previous record of ten league wins on the trot.
Paul Thompson, Blaze head coach commented on the coming fixture, "We've only one game this weekend so hopefully our fresh legs will give us the spark and jump to add to our points tally. Records aside we'll be looking to secure the points first and foremost."
