Jereme Tendler opened the scoring with a 55th side short handed goal. Back came Coventry and Greg Chambers levelled on 4.42, assisted by Lee.
On 8.44, Luke Fulghum fired Coventry ahead, assisted by Jon Weaver and Jason Robinson and eleven minutes later, Fulghum along with Carlson were the providers for Owen Fussey to hit a third.
On Sunday night, it's all back to the Sky Dome. Face Off is at 6pm.
