Only five Blaze fans made the trip to Humberside to see Paul Thompson's side who were without Greg Owen who was stuck in Readng.
The referee Dean Smith was also stuck on the M5 and the game had to be officiated by two linesman Sewell and O'Halloran.
Coventry took the lead on 7.11 when Arron Nell scored, assisted by Venus and Zanon and eleven minutes later, Luke Fulghum added a second, assisted by Lee and Fussey.
The Blaze lost Brian Lee to a potentally torn injury but could not find any more goals to add to their margin of victory.
On Sunday, the Blaze are at home to Newcastle Vipers. Face off is at 6pm.
