Russ Cowley made his 600th appearance for Coventry Blaze and it was a memorable night as the Blaze won 3-2 at Nottingham Panthers in over-time.
The Blaze iced Canadian Kelsey Wilson against his former club and he fired Coventry into the lead with a goal on 17.39.
Nottingham levelled when Loyns scored on the powerplay on 36.04 and had plenty of play but Cale Tanaka broke and Ryan Ginand fired The Blazer back in front on 48.23.
With less than three minutes of the match remaining, Nottingham equalised for a second time on the powerplay when Matt Ryan found the net on 57.08 assisted by Weaver and Clarke.
That sent the match into over-time but only eighteen seconds were needed as Michael Henrich went away on a one versus one and scored to give The Blaze a very welcome win.
