It has been confirmed that all car parks at the Ricoh Arena (City Of Coventry Stadium) will not be open for the London 2012 Olympic football matches being played in Coventry.

Games organisers are insisting that the vast majority of those attending matches use either shuttle buses from Pool Meadow and the Railway Station or use one of four park and walk site (one of which is over an hour's walk away)

A spokesman from the Olympic Delivery Authority told the Coventry Observer: "Given the unique scale and logistical requirements of the Games it will not be possible to use existing facilities at football stadiums for spectator parking.

"A number of locations close to the City of Coventry Stadium have now been identified as park and walk sites, with in excess of 4,000 spaces for the small percentage of spectators expected to drive to matches.

"We would urge spectators to plan and book their travel now so they are safe in the knowledge they can get to their events on time this summer."
