Kurt Johnson put Coventry ahead in the 15th minute before tries from Scott Clendenning-Fenton and John Nichols had Coventry 18-0 up at half-time.
Seven minutes into the second half, Nathan Tilsley intercepted a Leicester pass and raced 50 metres to score which was followed by a second try for Kurt Johnson.
Leicester hit back with three tries before Karl Wesley scored for Coventry. Leicester scored the final try of the game but Coventry were 36-18 winners.
With four games to play and a 4 point cushion, one point from the last two games will mean the Coventry Bears cannot be caught. Even without that point the Bears have a massive points dfferential over their rivals of well over three hundred points.
Next Saturday, Coventry Bears are at home to Gloucestershire Warriors.
