Coventry Bees drew against Swindon Robins tonight at Brandon.

The Bees went into the meeting chasing their fifth straight victory against a team that was managed by Bees boss Alan Rossiter and brought in Richard Sweetman.

They got off to a good start on a cloudy night at Brandon with Chris Harris and Przemyslaw Pawlicki winning their first heats of the night to see the Bees 10-2 ahead after two.

Lewis Bridger and Ed Kennett trailed in, in heat 3 and Coventry's poles Pawlicki and Krysztof Kasprzak did the same to make it 12-12.

A 3-3 was followed by another win for Chris Harris to give the Bees a two point lead which they kept as Heat seven was also a 3-3.

Ben Barker won Heat 8 as the Bees increased their lead to four but it was back to two, thanks to Ed Kennett's bike playing up in the next heat.

Heat ten had to be re-run after Zengota clipped Chris Harris and brought down the British Champion who got up to win the heat with Ben Barker coming second.

Swindon hit back with 4-2 victories and going into Heat thirteen, it was 37-35 to The Bees.

Chris Harris was on a maximum but had to settle for one point in Heat Thirteen when Luke Adams and Simon Stead burst clear.

This thrilling meeting still had plenty to offer and a 5-1 for the Bees in the penultimate heat meant that Coventry had restored their two point lead.

With the air of anticipation filling Brandon, Chris Harris was beaten by Luke Adams but was able to beat Stead to second place and the match finished as a 45-45 draw.
