At Brandon last night the Coventry Bees hosted the second visit of this season of the Oxford Cheetahs, without No 1 rider Scott Nicholls who had suffered a reaction to riding at the weekends Polish Grand Prix from his broken but pinned thumb.
With Scott's programmed rides being taken by his remaining 6 teammates the team set about their task with gusto, and even a lacklustre night by Morten Risager (1 point from 3 rides) still didn't prevent the Bees from securing a 57-36 victory.
The scoreline could have been greater but for a super performance from the visitors best rider Jesper B Jensen who totalled 16 of the teams 36 points.
Top scorers for the Bees were Rory Schlein (14 +2) and Chris 'Bomber' Harris who after his very successful Polish Grand Prix outing where he finished 3rd overall, he scored an impressive 15+1.
The next outing for the Bees, weather permitting is a clash this coming friday at home to Reading, who currently lie 4th in the Elite league table. Start time is the usual 8pm with the rider parade scheduled for 7.45pm.
As a reminder admission prices for Friday are
