Coventry Charity Cup Committee member Matt Kite completed the 'Coventry Way' 40 mile challenge run and in the process raised £750 for the Cup's nominated charities.
The cross-country race was a significant challenge for Matt who said 'The first 28 or so miles were not too bad. However, as the day wore on and it got warmer, I hit the 'wall' around the 32 mile mark. The cross-country terrain was hard with styles, marshes and also rock hard terrain to negotiate'.
The challenge started and ended in Meriden, and went via Kenilworth, Bubbenhall, Wolston, Brinklow, Bedworth and finally Corley. Matt completed the course in 9 hours 26 minutes.
The Charity Cup Final takes place at the Ricoh Arena on Tuesday May 4th at 7.30pm. This year, the final will be contested between Coventry Copsewood and Alveston.
Admission is £6 and £3 concessions.
