Coventry speedway riders Jason Garrity and Stefan Iversen made the final of the British U21 Championship but were both excluded.

At Cradley Heath, Coventry Bees and Coventry Storm were well represented with James Sarjeant, Kyle Howarth, Ryan Terry-Daly, Stefan Nielsen, Dan Greenwood and Jason Garrity.

However, only Nielsen who scored thirteen points with three wins and two seconds went into the final automatically with Garrity who scored ten points, qualifying for the final by winning the semi-final.

In the final, Nielsen collided with Garrity on the third bend and Nielsen was excluded. When the final was re-run, Garrity was adjudged to have taken down Adam Ellis of Lakeside and was also excluded, leaving Sheffield and Mildenhall's Josh Bates to get round Ellis and win the British U21 Championship.
