Coventry City Ladies or Coventry Copesewood could play in a Women's Super League which will be played over the summer months starting in 2010.
With Coventry City Ladies favourites and Coventry Copsewood currently top of the Midland Women's Combination, either or both Coventry sides could well be promoted at the end of this season into the Women's Premier League Northern Division.
This would then allow them to apply for membership of the new league being touted by the Football Association. This league will play in the summer months whilst the rest of the leagues continue to play from August until May.
Women's football in Northern and Southern Ireland has been played in the summer months for a number of years.
Former Coventry City Girls player Karen Carney is expected to be one of the England players offered a paid central contract by the FA.
