Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team were beaten 3-1 at home by Sheffield Steelers in a Challenge Cup fixture.
The Blaze, who want to take a look at those who agreed to bail out Hull Stingrays, leaving an under-strength side which failed to win the league last season and lost supporters as a result, for their financial problems which could see the club fold unless the fans bail them out, played out a goal-less first period.
Luke Fulghum, who had been released by Paul Thompson last month, came back to haunt the Blaze when he opened the scoring with a powerplay goal on 25.25
Shea Guthrie levelled on 27.11, assisted by Dustin Wood and Woo-Sang Park and that was the way it stayed until the last five minutes of the match.
On 55. 37, Mike Ramsey put the Steelers back in front with a short handed goal and on 58.53, Jon Phillips scored to see the Blaze beaten 3-1.
