Marlon Devonish must now rely on a good performance in the 200m if he to make the Great Britain team for the Beijing Olympics.
Dwain Chambers, who was banned by the British team for drugs, won the 100m in the British Olympic Association Trials at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium.
Having qualified for the final with a time of 10.38 yesterday,Devonish, the 32 year old Coventry Godiva Harrier and City supporter who would love to help out with the player fitness training, was up against Dwain Chambers who received a mixed reception prior to the start.
Devonish was automatically named for selection if he finished first or second, but he finished seventh (10.28) behind Chambers (10.00) and Simean Williamson.
Chambers will appear in the High Court on Wednesday to try an overturn a ban by the BOA and book himself a place on the flight to Beijing, whilst Devonish who stormed off back to the dressing room after the race needs a good performance in the 200m tomorrow otherwise he could miss out.
