Coventry Godiva Harriers runner Marlon Devonish won his 200m race on the final day of the European Athletics Cup in Annecy in France.
The Olympic gold medal winner and GB Team captain ran a season's best time of 20.52 to hit the tape first but was far from happy telling the BBC: "I stumbled and made that hard work. "My experience definitely helped me through. It was poor technically but I'll take the points it is good for the team."
The former Caludon Castle pupil is expected to run the 200m for Great Britian in the Olympics in Beijing which start in August.
