Having failed in an attempt to land a Polish rider this week, Alan Rossiter's side lost Christian Hefenbrock and had to use rider replacement.
Belle Vue had a 5-1 in the opening heat but Bees came back with a 4-2. Heat Three produced a 3-3 before Ashworth took Iversen out on the first bend and the heat four had to be re-run. It looked like a 5-1 for the Aces but Ed Kennett fought back for a 2-4.
Heat Five saw Rory Schlein get the better of former Bees rider Scott Nicholls but a 3-3 meant that the Bees trailed by 17-13.
The next heat brought the match level with Chris Harris and rider replacement Arron Summers storming to victory.
A 3-3 and 4-2 Bees victory followed by another 3-3 had The Bees ahead in Heat 9 by 28-26 but a 5-1 win for Belle Vue in the tenth saw the visitors back in front at the interval.
Heat 11 which eventually ended in a 3-3 had to be re-run and it was the same score in the next heat.
Two 4-2's and a 3-3 for Belle Vue were enough to give them a 48-42 victory and pour more misery on Coventry who travel to Eastbourne tomorrow night.
