Cooke, whose father and grand-father are both Coventry born was awarded the MBE.
She was nominated along with a number of others for her gold medal performance at the Beijing Olympic which saw a Knighthood for track cyclist Chris Hoy.
Seventeen people from Coventry & Warwickshire also were recognised in the honours list.
