Coventry's world famous Transport Museum has linked up with a Leamington based Arts company to launch Extraordinary Cycles.

Part of their plans include an annual week long Festival Of Cycling and hosting a City Centre race is likely to be on the agenda when Extraordinary Cycles is launched at a public forum at 7pm on Saturday September 27th at the Transport Museum.

Said Lucy Rumble,marketing director at the museum: "Cycling has become a phenomenon and it is doing brilliantly - if it wasn't for Coventry,we wouldn't have the cycle we know and love today.

"I'm keen to highlight the importance of cycling for Coventry in relation to the 2012 London Olympics but we need to give people ideas for what we can do next.

In other cycling news, Olympic hero Nicole Cook, whose father and grandfather are from Coventry, is part of the British team entering the World Championships Women's Road Race on Saturday in Varese, Italy.

Lance Armstrong will join the Astana team in January and start competing in road races after a two year absence. The Texan is expected to enter the Tour De France which starts in July in Monte Carlo, having won the race on seven successive occasions.
