Coventry Bees rider Chris Harris suffered a broken nose and went out in the semi-final of the Speedway British Grand Prix tonight.
In front of a crowd of around 40,000, Harris won his opening race and came third in his second outing.
Another second place finish was followed by a third before he was taken out in his fifth race, suffering a broken nose as a result of the crash.
In the re-run, Harris came second and his ten points saw him qualify for the semi-finals along with former Bees favourite Scott Nicholls.
The rider, now at Eastbourne, finished second in his heat whilst Harris need a place in the top two to make the final.
Unfortunately he finished third and did not make the final which saw Nicholls disqualified for breaking the tape. Jason Crump won the final heat with Greg Hancock second.
Harris is now a doubt for the Bees next meeting on Monday when they travel to Lakeside. Sky Sports will show the meeting live and also announce the details of the 2009 British Grand Prix.
The travel for the Bees continues on Wednesday with a trip to Poole who are at Brandon on Friday night. Then, its two more trips with Eastbourne away on Saturday and on Monday July 7th, a trip to Belle Vue.
