The Cassidy Jets did their part for the BBC's Children in Need campaign this week when they took a trip down to London to visit the Celebrity Scissorhands' studio.

The Jets, accompanied by their cheerleaders, The Crew, met up with the trainees at Lee Stafford's Camden based academy.

Now in it's third series Celebrity Scissorhands has proved popular with a UK audience and is broadcast daily on BBC 3 with late night showings on BBC 1. The Jets and Crew managed to raise £500 which they presented to stand in receptionist David Gest challenging him to match it, which he promptly did.

Four players received haircuts with 2007 BAFL MVP Tim Spaull getting a close crop from actor Lee MacDonald (aka Grange Hill's Zammo) who finished off the look by shaving a "Z" in the back of the quarterback's hair. Next up was running back Lawrence Grugeon who had a trim courtesy of former glamour model and "The Real Hustle" presenter Jessica-Jane Clement.

Guard Adam O'Reilly wound up with a distinctive lightning flash and mohican at the hands of Five Star's Steadman Pearson whilst linebacker Paul Newey was the beneficiary of a short back and sides from former Mis-Teeq singer and eventual finalist Sabrina Washington. The Crew girls all had manicures courtesy of Grange Hill actor Chris Perry-Metcalf and TV Presenter Jeff Leach.

Only two players were brave enough to go for a wax, Mark Cohen had his legs done by "Zammo" with help from "The Apprentice's" Lucinda Ledgerwood. Cornerback James Luce endured a painful chest wax from Sabrina Washington but managed to raise an additional £100 for his suffering. Linebacker Will White and Secretary Adam Etheridge had manicures from boy-band star Scott Robinson. The former 5ive singer will be joined in the final by fellow contestants Sabrina and Jeff.

All of the show's stars, plus glamour model Jodie Marsh and host George Lamb, signed Cassidy Jets replica jerseys which will also be auctioned off to raise more money for the charity appeal.
