Coventry Jets have added another member to the off field management team of the club. Burnadette ‘Burnie’ White has joined the club as part of the Media/Sponsorship team.
Burnie, who has a solid sporting background in netball, hockey, athletics and swimming, moved to the UK in 2003 from her home town of Durban, South Africa.
She first came into contact with the Jets a few years ago through her work in the Coventry City Council’s Education Department. Burnie explained: "A few years ago I invited Coventry Jet players to speak at one of the events I arranged for the Coventry Secondary Schools to raise the attainment in English and Maths.
"When I met the Jet players, they were so inspiring and enthusiastic about their club and sport. I became friends with one of the players, who is now a coach at the club, two years later after having a conversation about me volunteering in the community he gave me the idea to volunteer for the Coventry Jets as a media/sponsorship team."
