Coventry Cycle Speedway racer Josh Marsh was left hospitalised following a horror crash at Ashmore Park, Wednesfield, on Sunday afternoon whilst competing in the Midland League Division 2 fixture.
Marsh, a man very much involved with the Coventry club, drifted across the track in an attempt to defend the third position he held during heat 11 of the clash. He clashed with an away rider and landed heavily on his head - worsened by the fact his bike and competitor also landed on top of him.
Marsh led on the track for roughly an hour before, eventually, an ambulance came to transport the 14 year old off the track. A neck brace was applied to Marsh and he was stretchered off the track to a large round of applause from all in attendance.
All at Coventry would like to wish Josh the speediest of recoveries. News on Josh's condition will be posted when possible.
Josh's Dad, Lee, posted the following update on Facebook "Quick update on Josh, nothing broken and X-ray clear, badly bruised and beaten up and feeling grog, we we're allowed to go home but on the way out he collapsed and fainted so taken back in, came round and under observation at the moment, will keep posted."
