Cash stricken Nuneaton Borough are to make an announcement about the future of the Liberty Way based club on Monday at 2pm.
The side, with debts rumoured to be close to £1m face relegation from the Conference North if they enter administration.
Director Ian Neale who took over the club from former Coventry City Director Ted Stocker has fought to keep the club which rents its home from Nuneaton Rugby Club, afloat in a situation very similar to that which Coventry City endured over the last three years.
Neale has kept in constant touch with Conference bosses and legal advisors, but knows that his side could face a two division drop in to the Midland Division of the Southern League.
Now, whilst relegation from any division is a worrying, there are positives in that the club would no longer have trips to Barrow and Workington and could face local derbies against Midland Alliance Winners Atherstone Town, Bedworth United and the very well supported Leamington FC.
Income from these games and Boro doing more to win back supporters who can't get to the ground after they moved to the out of town Liberty Way site, would give the club a chance to regroup and build a new and better future.
