Leicester based Rendall '2 Tone' Munroe won in the ninth round of his contest with Victor Terrazas.
At the Sky Dome in Coventry tonight, Munroe - the Boxing Bin Man took on Victor Terrazas in a 12 round Super Bantamweight final eliminator contest.
Against the World ranked number Nine in the WBC rankings, who had a nightmare journey in getting to Coventry, Munroe was backed by a good support from his home city, weighing the heaviest.
The Mexican just about shaded the opening three rounds but Munroe came back in the fourth and fifth rounds. Round six saw Munroe chipping away with Terrazas pinned on the ropes. He took the next round and the eighth round.
A good combination in the ninth saw Terrazas on his knees and the fight was stopped in the 57th second of the ninth round.
Olympic medallist Tony Jeffries beat Nathan King 59-56 on points in a super-middleweight contest. The victory was Jeffries sixth since returning from the last Olympics.
